How to accelerate the progress of potentially underachieving pupils at KS3-4

Where pupils across the ability range fail to achieve their MFL targets, the reasons can be manifold and the solutions likewise. This one-day course will start with a brief exposition of key research findings and with an analysis of the real features of progression in languages - with clear links to statutory requirements and Ofsted expectations.
Martine will then suggest a variety of practical steps for boosting achievement at KS3-4. Among other things, this will help participants to identify manageable approaches to valuable but sometimes potentially mystifying concepts such as active learning, accelerated learning for all, thinking skills, independent learning, assessment for learning and realistic approaches to CLIL. .
